As the CITIES Category Management team finalizes plans and strategy for Q4, we’ve been thinking about market trends for the biggest sales season of the year. Here are a few thoughts from our friends at TWICE:

Challenges – TVs will be a challenging market due to the rollout of 4k and rapidly decreasing price points.  Shoppers will be looking for hot deals on large screen sizes this year.

High Risk/High Reward Categories – Drones and Smart Home continue to struggle with guest awareness.  It will be interesting to see how aggressively retailers will go after these categories this holiday season.

Wearable Tech – With Apple announcing a new Apple Watch, all eyes will be on this category again this year.  Best Buy is set to announce deep discounts on Apple products on November 13th.
